Khajrana Flyover

Quick Take: Indore Development Authority (IDA) is set to construct a Khajrana-style flyover at Robot Square, one of the city’s busiest traffic junctions. With the design nearly finalized and tenders expected soon, the project aims to ease congestion on the Ring Road while complementing the Indore Metro corridor. Simultaneously, feasibility studies for an underpass at Radisson Square are also underway.

Another Step Towards a Signal-Free Ring Road

Robot Square has emerged as one of Indore’s busiest intersections, especially after the completion of flyovers at Pipliyahana, Bengali Square, and Khajrana. Traffic moving smoothly through these junctions often slows down significantly at Robot Square and Radisson Square, creating long queues during peak hours.

To address this, IDA plans to build a flyover similar to the Khajrana model. The proposed structure will feature separate two-lane carriageways on either side, allowing the existing Metro corridor to continue through the centre without obstruction. The project is estimated to cost around ₹60 crore, and the design is expected to be placed before the IDA Board before the tendering process begins.

Why It Matters for Real Estate

Infrastructure upgrades of this scale have a direct impact on real estate growth.

Robot Square connects several of Indore’s fastest-growing residential and commercial destinations, including Vijay Nagar, Nipania, Mahalaxmi Nagar, Scheme 140, and the Super Corridor access routes. Improved traffic flow will enhance accessibility, reduce travel time, and make these locations even more attractive for homebuyers, businesses, and investors.

Better connectivity also supports higher demand for office spaces, retail developments, hospitality projects, and premium housing. As commuting becomes easier, surrounding neighbourhoods often experience stronger property appreciation and improved rental demand.

Strengthening Indore’s Urban Future

The proposed Robot Square flyover, together with the planned traffic improvements at Radisson Square, reflects Indore’s long-term vision of creating a modern and efficient transport network.

When combined with the expanding Metro system, new flyovers, service roads, and mobility projects, these investments are transforming how the city moves and grows. For the real estate sector, they reinforce an important trend—locations backed by strong infrastructure continue to offer the greatest long-term value.

As Indore moves closer to a seamless, signal-free urban road network, infrastructure-led development will remain one of the strongest drivers of the city’s real estate market.
